Houses are not products.
We try to act accordingly.
A small brokerage by design.
North & Linden was founded in 2017 on a quiet premise: that the way a house is represented should resemble the way it is actually lived in. No staged exclamations. No fluorescent flyers. A short list of homes each season, written about with care, photographed without theatrics, and shown to the people most likely to love them.
We take fewer listings than most brokerages our size. We turn down work regularly. The math does not, on paper, make sense. In practice it has made every difference.
Margaux Holloway
Co-founder · Principal Broker
Trained as an architect, practiced for nine years before moving into real estate. Specializes in pre-war buildings, restoration projects, and the kind of houses that are easier to draw than to photograph.
Theo Eames
Co-founder · Broker, Editorial
Wrote about architecture and interiors for a decade before joining North & Linden. Handles listing narratives, neighborhood research, and the slow long lunches with sellers we are not yet certain we want to take on.
A single photographer.
One person, one day, natural light, no virtual tours, no staging companies. The house has to be ready for the people who actually want to live in it.
A written brief.
Every listing comes with a 1,200-word brief written by the agent who knows it. We do not write bullet points. We do not write “stunning.”
A small list of buyers.
We maintain a quiet contact list of buyers we know personally. Most of our listings sell before they hit a public site.
A long conversation.
We do not believe in 48-hour offers, sight-unseen bidding wars, or open houses with line lists. We believe in the long, considered conversation. So far it has worked.
